This past weekend I was the main event for the third time at Fight to win pro! My opponent, the always tough Tim Spriggs, brought his game and in the end I was awarded the victory. This was a very special event for me, earlier in the year I had some set backs and after giving it a lot of thought I had to decide what I wanted for my future. In my career I set many goals that I accomplished, I won my first ADCC, an event I had always dreamed of winning. In 2017 I repeated that feat and I also went on to make history as the only two time no gi world absolute winner taking home gold in both my weight and the open division. After talking with my professor, my family and thinking about my life, I realized that there was still more I want to accomplish. I recommitted myself, in preparation to finish the year out strong, extend my record at No gi worlds and start 2019 off right. This fight to win was my first test!
Thank you to all my students, my affiliates, my professor and most of all my family. My mother and father have always been there for me and knowing they are proud of what I am doing means more than any title. Next up is no gi worlds, and I’m excited. 2019 will be my best year ever and I can’t wait to make history!
